Essential Oils 101
All I knew about essential oils before I attended my first doTerra workshop, was that lavender was used in a lot of products sold in stores and I couldn’t stand the smell. Now I understand that the lavender wasn’t pure. I love the real thing and use doTERRA CPTG Lavender in countless ways now that I’m an “Oiler!”
What Are Essential Oils?
If you have ever enjoyed the scent of a rose, you’ve experienced the aromatic qualities of essential oils. These naturally occurring, volatile aromatic compounds are found in the seeds, bark, stems, roots, flowers, and other parts of plants. Essential oils provide plants with protection against environmental threats and play a role in plant pollination. In addition to their intrinsic benefits to plants and being beautifully fragrant to people, essential oils have long been used for food preparation, beauty treatment, and health-care practices. Be aware, though, that if you use cheap, adalturated oils, you're taking a risk, since you have no way of knowing what's been added to the oil. Please do your research. That's why I only use doTERRA CPTG essential oils.
This is a great example of natural wellness working together with American Medicine! I hope and pray these efforts continue to grow and expand.

Essential oils are not just a fad, and not just for hippies...
My sister was handed this to inhale from before surgery by her nurse. In a hospital!! Specifically for "calming and relaxation." The oils were added to cotton balls inside the container and will be fragrant for many hours. I don't know anyone who doesn't want a little more calm and relaxation in their life!
You Know You're an Oiler When...!
Seriously, though, my husband is a good sport about all the different smells he encounters as I try out various diffuser recipes. He has a keen sense of smell, so I usually go into another room or wait until he leaves the house. Of course, the main reason he’s supportive is that the oils have helped me with so many health issues. I’m so blessed in so many ways.
Be sure and check out the essential oil diffuser recipes while you're here!
